MILWAUKEE STUDENTS TOUR FOND DU LAC CITY AND POLICE DEPARTMENT

Written by Christal Shipp in collaboration with Keywon Brown
On April 19th, 2018 the Fond du Lac Police Department, Life Enforcement, Fond du Lac YMCA and Pizza Ranch welcomed Milwaukee Collegiate Academy Scholars for a day of learning, love, food and fun.
Ms. Christal Shipp decided to bring the students to Fond du Lac so that they could see the different opportunities that are available to them. This would include an inside look of the Fond du Lac Police Department, for those students that are interested in a Criminal Justice career. But more importantly so that the students, who often deal with troubles beyond their years, could experience a day of being at peace.
The students started the day off by touring the Fond du Lac Police Department with Officer Keywon Brown and Officer Eric Foster. This gave students an inside look at various careers in Law Enforcement and what it all involves. Such as being a Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Detective and even the entry level positions of Auxiliary Officer and Community Service Officers.
The students then headed to the Fond du Lac YMCA where they were given the chance to just be kids and relax.
After the students had worked up an appetite by swimming and playing basketball, they ended the day at Fond du Lac’s Pizza Ranch.
Milwaukee Collegiate Academy scholars truly thank each and every person that made the day a success.
It should be noted that during a time where Milwaukee tackles serious issues, Milwaukee Collegiate Academy has again announced 100% college placement of their graduating class. That includes over 3 million dollars in scholarships and grants awarded to those amazing young people.
These young men and women have Bright futures ahead of them and the City of Fond du Lac thanks you for visiting us!
Take Care!
